Why consultation isn't required
This bulletin is for information only, as a closure plan amendment is not an instrument under the Environmental Bill of Rights, 1993. The Ministry of Energy and Mines is posting this bulletin to the Environmental Registry to keep the public informed of changes to mining projects in Ontario. If you wish to comment on this Closure Plan Amendment, please use the contact information for Douglas Nikkila, listed below.
Under the Mining Act, a closure plan outlines how land impacted by advanced exploration and/or mine production will be rehabilitated, and the financial assurance associated with doing so. A proponent shall promptly notify the Ministry in a Notice of Material Change form if a change that could be reasonably be expected to have a material effect on the adequacy of the filed closure plan is planned, has occurred or is likely to occur.
