Approval is granted for an amendment to ECA No. 7913-CNSRL5 (sewage) for Metrolinx, to include additional stormwater management works to service the Go Transit Streetsville Bus Garage facility, located at 6190 Mississauga Road, Mississauga, Ontario.
The proposed stormwater management works include addition of four oil/grit separators to the site, to provide enhanced level of stormwater quality control, for the total drainage area of approximately 4.75 hectares, and ultimately discharging to Mullet Creek located south of the site.

- I approve of this amendment
- Suspended solids in water cause both ecological and aesthetic problems. While some suspended solids may not cause issue, and may be part of the natural cycles in a water body, human activity tends to add more of them, and problematic ones as well. This can impact photosynthesis in the water, and by extension alter water chemistry and the food web in the water
- Furthermore, in more urban areas, pollutants, such as those created by car exhaust and tire particles, can adsorb onto buildings and then end up in the water system once it rains, thereby adding more pollutants to it. These pollutants then harm ecosystems, and by extension us, both in terms of health and in terms of finances
- Of course, thorough research has to be done the type of separators added, and they have to be maintained properly to work

- The above comment were noted and considered during review
- Appropriate Terms and Conditions were included in the ECA for proper operation and maintenance of the approved sewage works, to ensure that the Works are operated and maintained to function as designed
- Additionally, effluent objectives and monitoring conditions in the ECA (for oil & grease, total suspended solids, pH) along with Spill Contingency and Reporting conditions, to ensure that the approved sewage works does not cause any impairment to the receiving watercourse, and annual reports to be prepare and submitted to the Ministry

1. Prepare your application
You’ll need to prepare an application. You may wish to include the following things in your application:

What is considered
The appeal body will consider the following two questions in deciding whether to grant you leave to appeal:
- is there is good reason to believe that no reasonable person, with respect to the relevant law and to any government policies developed to guide decisions of that kind, could have made the decision?
- could the decision you wish to appeal result in significant harm to the environment?

This proposal is for an amendment to ECA No. 7913-CNSRL5 (sewage) for Metrolinx. This amendment is for the addition of four oil/grit separators servicing the Go Transit Streetsville Bus Garage, located at 6190 Mississauga Road, Mississauga, Ontario.
The proposed oil/grit separators will provide water quality treatment and serve a drainage area of 4.75 hectares, providing a minimum of 80% total suspended solids removal. All flows discharge to Mullet Creek located south of the site.
