Proposal details

This proposal is for an amendment to the Environmental Compliance Approval (ECA) No. 4943-4Z5KUZ for upgrades to an existing stormwater management system serving a food processing operation on a site located at 21 & 23 Speedvale Avenue South, in the City of Guelph, County of Wellington, Ontario.

In the proposed updated stormwater management system, existing Catchment 400 is divided into two separate drainage areas catchments - 400 and 401, to reflect actual existing conditions, whereby there are two existing onsite storm sewer connections to the municipal storm sewer on Speedvale Avenue West.

The existing connections will be maintained and each onsite storm sewer branch will be equipped with an Oil/Grit Separator (Stormceptor EF05 or approved equivalent), for quality control, prior to discharging to the municipal storm sewer system. There is a need to replace portions of the existing storm sewer, with the same or larger diameter.

The remainder of the property, which includes dairy manufacturing operations, warehousing, a wastewater treatment facility, and existing stormwater infrastructure, continues to operate in compliance with the current ECA, with runoff from defined stormwater catchment areas directed toward approved stormwater management facilities located in the northern and eastern portions of the site.
