Cielo Vista Farms Inc. - Environmental Compliance Approval (sewage)

This proposal is for an amendment to the Environmental Compliance Approval (sewage) no. 9113-BXXRYG to accommodate for an expansion of the existing Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) located at 756 Ontario Highway 77 in the Municipality of Leamington, Ontario. The WWTP consists of Pre-Treatment and Flow Equalization, and a Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor (MBBR).

The WWTP only receives residential sewage from on site bunk houses, warehouses, and offices totaling an average flow rate of 48,000 litres per day and the operates at a rated capacity of 60,000 litres per day. The WWTP does not receive industrial wastewater generated by the greenhouse processes.

The proposed development expansion will increase the ultimate daily design flow of the system to 101,150 litres per day after the completion of Phase 4 and sized to accommodate the ultimate daily design flow of 180,000 litres per day after the completion of the Phase 5 development.

The Phase 4 Treatment system Upgrades will consist of the following: Coagulant Dosing System, Filter Feed (effluent) Pumps, Tertiary Filter System, Backwash Pumps and Control Panels.

Phase 5 Treatment System Upgrades will consist of the following: Equalization Tank, Primary/Secondary Sludge Storage, Primary Clarifier, Bioreactor 1 and 2, Floc Reactor, Secondary Clarifier and Intermediate Pump Tank.
