Proposal details
This proposal is for an Environmental Compliance Approval (waste disposal site) for an enclosed non-hazardous liquid soil waste processing facility. This processing site is a 1.5-hectares property located in the City of Ottawa.
The facility will recycle and extract the valuable materials that can be used from liquid soils. The slurry (liquid soils) is washed and screened into large aggregate, fine aggregate, soil and ultra fines, and clean water. The processed materials will be stored in bins, near the equipment until sampled and either exported or temporarily stored in sea containers. Clean water will be temporarily stored in a water tank near the equipment to be re-used in Hydrovac units.
The maximum quantity of liquid soil waste to be received daily is 80 cubic metres (less than 100 tonnes per day), and 20,800 cubic metres (approximately 23,400 tonnes annually). The facility will service the Province of Ontario and will operate Monday to Friday, between 7:00 A.M. and 7:00 P.M..
