It would be a shame to erect such a known pollutant in our area. Potentially harmful substances such as heavy metals, mercury and others toxic pollutant, apart from the 20 % releases coming from the SWM pond, could be released directly into the Ottawa River via the Charlebois drain.

Having read the documentation, we have reasons to believe that, contrary to Colacem’s statements, used water discharged by the Cement Plant in the Charlebois creek towards the Ottawa River will contain serious amount of cadmium and other heavy metals.

De concert avec plusieurs concitoyens, je crois que le projet dela cimenterie Colacem pourrait causer de sérieux torts aux habitants vivant en périphérie, ce pourquoi je m'y oppose.

To whom this may concern, I am against the cement plant project. There are too many negative health, environmental and economic impacts that will affect not only our small community but those near by as well.

I have strong concerns that the stormwater management pond will be inedequate to handle the surface water runoff from such a large facility, especially from the huge PetCoke storage pile.

I have concern regarding any system that could potentially allow hazardous materials to leave the plant site and namely contaminate the Ottawa River. Even if well planned I am sure that this is a possibility - we do not need any more pollution!
