I do support the implementation of a more comprehensive asset management planning process, although I think that the proposed regulation could be unattainable with the current deadlines for small municipalities and municipalities with resource challenges.
Municipal asset management plans have been completed in various forms. Small Municipalities with more complex infrastructure that includes waste water and water, storm sewers, hydrants, street lighting, and internal street system require a high degree of expertise to complete an effective AMP.

It is vital for our communities to acknowledge and quantify the value of green infrastructure so that we can protect what we currently have and increase our inventory if we see gaps.

I support the province’s leadership in developing a regulation for municipal asset management planning. Within this planning, I strongly support and urge the province to integrate green infrastructure planning and management into the regulation.
