I am very concerned about the continued survival of the woodland caribou due to their continuing loss of habitat. The aforementioned proposal flies in the face of a commitment to protect these endangered creatures. It will impinge negatively on their migratory routes. Read more

I understand that Ontario wants to exempt the logging industry from Ontario’s Endangered Species at Risk Act until at least 2020. If these exemptions are approved, the already threatened caribou is at risk of losing the vast expanses of forest they need to survive. Read more

It seems Resolute has fingers in the govs policy making decisions again, but it is imperative that natures reserves remain stronger than ever in 2018. I refuse to believe selling lumber to the U.S. is as important as the caribou habitat in Canada. Read more

It is unacceptable to exempt any corporation including the logging industry from the Ontario Endangered Species Act. We need to protect our wildlife and the boreal forest. The caribou need large, uninterrupted expanses of land to survive. Read more

My family and I depend on the forestry industry . Why do these people from major city's want us to loose everything we have worked so hard for? Which is exactly what would happen because our small town depends on the local mill to keep food on our tables . We support section 55 ESA regulation! Read more

I strongly oppose excluding the logging industry from Ontario’s Endangered Species at Risk Act. Please do not exclude the logging industry from Ontario’s Endangered Species at Risk Act--not now, not ever. Our forests and wildlife must be protected at all costs. [Original Comment ID: 212622]

I hope you are not going to sacrifice wildlife species for the sake of lobbyists. The environment and its species have suffered enough and been depleted enough. They do need habitat to survive and o course a scape goat such as the wolf is needed when humans unbalance the ecosystem. Read more

The extension should be five years instead of two, so that the panel can do its work effectively and work through the very complex issues associated with sustainable forest management and the goal of protecting species-at-risk in balance with other important socio-economic priorities Read more

Logging companies should not have Carter Blanche to do as they please. Caribou are either protected or not protected. Too often we allow companies leeway which results in abuse. [Original Comment ID: 212625]

As an informed citizen and taxpayer, I do not want to want to see the logging industry exempt from the Ontario Endangered Species at Risk Act. I would like to see the endangered Caribou (and all species) have the most land possible free of development and industry. Read more

Read more
