I don't understand why this plant is being cancelled 8 years and $100 million down the road. I understand that the construction is unpopular with the local community, but this is often true with construction and, once finished, the plant will benefit both them and other Ontarians. Read more

I have been a strong conservative for many years and am excited about the direction the Ford government is taking over all but this is one of the blunders they have made. I believe it was done for political reasons. It puts a very bad taste in the mouths of investors and contractors like myself. Read more

This seems crazy to me. The electricity generated with wind will reduce our dependency on polluting generating methods like gas, oil, and coal. It may some day allow us to mothball the nuclear generating stations. How is the local region planning on making up for this loss? Read more

Seeing first hand in our community the amount of materials , fuel and other resources that have gone into building this project to a nearly completed state, it is mind-boggling to think that even more will now need to go into removing what is there should this wind farm be dismantled. Read more

I would like to see the cancellation of the White Pines Wind Project reversed. and the project continued. The Project is nearly complete after 10 years of effort. We, as a province, have already invested $100 million into the project. Read more

To close down the White Pines Project seems to me utterly irresponsible. We in Eastern Ontario need the economic activity that renewable projects bring. I resent that my taxes will go to settle the just claims of the developer for compensation. Read more

I wholeheartedly oppose the "White Pines Wind Project Termination Act, 2018". The White Pines Wind Project, like other wind farms, is a clean, safe, reliable, cheap source of electric power that will be essential as the province's nuclear generators reach the end of their useful lives. Read more

In this time of environmental crisis, we need all the clean, renewable energy we can get. Shutting down this project will only contribute to further climate degradation which will cost all of us huge amounts as natural disasters continue to escalate and become more frequent. Read more

Mr Ford, it is time to wake up to the realities of today and stop looking backwards. What worked a decade or two or five ago is no longer the answer and solution for the problems we are facing now and will be inevitably faced by the next generations. Read more
