You state that the provincial Endangered Species Act (ESA) should "increase efficiencies for businesses", but this suggested change contradicts both the intended purpose of the ESA and the positive associations between a region's biodiversity and its economic potential. Read more

These proposed changes follow in line with the current government's "open for business" approach will make it easier for industry and development to degrade the habitats of endangered plants and animals. This proposal is not one I am on board with at all.

The preservation of endangered species takes precedent over any business. If a business can't function within the law then it is a failed business, and deserves to go bankrupt. I strongly oppose these changes and will be considering this decision in future elections.

The protection of wildlife should be prioritized over "efficiency" and "economic development". We have reached a point where climate change is inevitable and potentially catastrophic. There is no time left to gloss over the dangers of climate change and inaction regarding the environment.
