As a taxpayers in my late 50’s I oppose trophy hunting. It does not sustain it decimated species especially bears. Eco tourism brings joy and money into the economy. Trophy hunting serves only trigger happy emasculated individuals

This is a good thing to do as there was to many bears. There was no scientific reason to cancel the spring bear hunt any way it was just a political reason. We have problems with bear as they are starting to be dangerous as they don't seem to be scare of humains anymore.
I disagree with the proposed changes, for the following reasons:
- it is difficult, if not impossible for hunters to distinguish between male and female bears.
- the issues that prompted the original cancellation have not been resolved.

Bringing back the spring bear hunt sets Ontario back years. Ontario just put in precedent setting legislation to enhance animal welfare and better protect animals, why would we then turn around and dismantle that reputation.

I remember when the spring bear hunt was stopped 20 years ago and I believe the reasons for stopping it are just as valid today as they were 20 years ago. Maybe even more so as the values of society has shifted more in the direction of environmentalism and animal welfare.
