I don't understand how you can continue a spring bear hunt, while at same time, acknowledging that you also need to reduce the bear hunt for the Bruce - you even acknowledge 'particularly for females'. Human intervention has already taken it's toll. Read more

Reinstatement of the bear hunt should not be allowed. There are already enough individuals who create excuses to shoot them. We lost 10 black bears from our vicinity last year. A few locals went out with 4 by 4's, dogs and guns. Treed them and shot them. There is no valid reason for it.

How can humans justify going into a wild animals home and needlessly kill it for doing what comes natural to it? Very arrogant of some humans to think they are superior to other beings and have the right to take animals lives that are different from them. Read more

Please do not open up the Spring bear hunt. Shooting animals for sport is a hideous pasttime and many cubs will be left orphans. Who has the right to take an animal's life for 'fun'. NO ONE. This is a criminal and cruel pasttime and the ban should stay in place.

The spring bear hunt is unneeded. The numbers of black bears in Southern Ontario is already dropping. The spring hunt will result in the killing of sows and hence their cubs. Hunters cannot possibly know the difference and will just kill. Stop it now.

Please put a stop to this bear hunt. It is exposing so many bears and babies to unnecessary cruelty. There is no need to this hunt as it relates to nature, it is only for the satisfaction of humans who get satisfaction from sport hunting. It is wrong and unnecessary.
