The protection of all watercourses are extremely important. Undefined swales feed into watercourses downstream and that is what creates a defined channel. Just because a watercourse does not have a defined bank does not mean it's unimportant. Read more

I'm no expert, but it sounds like some of these proposed 'updates' to the conservation authorities act would make it harder for the conservation authorities to oversee building activity and also allow it to be easier to build on potential riparian areas. Read more
