Please don’t allow the commodification of water in Canada. The selling of bottled water is unfortunate in a country with the water resources we have, especially considering as well how much plastic waste it generates. Please say NO to Nestlé.

absolutely no water taking permits should be granted for the purpose of bottled water. Giving away our natural resources for so little, to the already wealthy, to sell back to us is immoral and incredibly short sited. we should be phasing out all single use bottled water, not allow more. Read more

The Haudenosaunee Confederacy Council issued a cease-and-desist order two years ago to stop Nestlé from taking the water. By requesting the permit and making plans to continue the water grab, Triton Waters is ignoring Indigenous sovereignty. Just like Nestlé did. Read more

Clean potable water is already a hard enough resource to obtain as is. We should not allow companies to access precious resources for a pittance and then sell it back to us for a premium, especially since we just denied Nestle that same privilege.

Now, more than ever, the Ontario & federal Canadian governments need to step up and help right the many wrongs from the past and for the sake of humanity- to help First Nations have free access to clean water. Corporations have no right to such basic needs ahead of humans .
