Penned dog hunting facilities are barbaric and outdated. This practice has been phased out for a reason. I, as a tax paying Canadian citizen, do NOT agree with this and am embarrassed that I even have to take time out of my evening to write this.

Wildlife should never be taken from their natural environments and held captive by hunters. We already encroach upon wildlifes natural habitat and have them put down for simply existing. This cannot happen.

It was for good reason that these were being phased out after 1997. Wildlife should not be taken from their natural environments and held captive by hunters. It is especially cruel to use rabbits, coyotes, and foxes as pawns for hunters to train dogs and to hold competitions. Read more

I firmly reject the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry’s proposal to allow new licenses and the transfer of licenses for train and trial areas in Ontario. Penned dog hunting facilities are cruel to the wild animals who are subjected to various methods used to train dogs to hunt. Read more

Disgusting proposal - why is it that this government is intent on moving us backward in literally every way, whether it be human or animal policies. I am completely against this. As would be anyone with more than two neurons to rub together.

I am a concerned citizen of Canada, and the policy change regarding penned dog hunting facilities is cruel to the wild animals and inhumane. Stop allowing this disgusting practice on defenceless animals and roll back the existing 24 facilities.

I can't believe in 2023 I have to write this. Please do not allow this barbaric practice to proceed. I firmly reject the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry’s proposal to allow new licenses and the transfer of licenses for train and trial areas in Ontario. Read more

These facilities should be illegal. This is animal cruelty plain and simple. This should not be considered a “sport” and it certainly isn’t an essential practice. There is absolutely no need for any wildlife to be taken from their natural environment to be held captive and tortured for “sport”. Read more
