The licenses were meant to phase out this abhorrent practice...what is the reasoning behind changing course by Fish and Wildlife? Lobbyists have been pounding on the doors I suppose. Scent training can be done effectively without the use of living animals. Read more

I am vehemently against this proposal. The proposal is being positioned as a way to preserve the livelihood of *24* licensees; however, it ignores the horrific cruelty and life of terror that such facilities inflict on the captive wildlife. Read more

This proposal/Act to support and extend animal killing practices for sport shows how low our society is. It is also well known that people who abuse animals willingly abuse people. I strongly object to the extention of this practice and in fact to its very legalization by this act.

Can’t even believe this is even a thing, but I firmly reject the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry’s proposal to allow new licenses and the transfer of licenses for train and trial areas in Ontario. Read more

The practice of this is beyond barbaric. Animals are living breathing feeling beings. This is extremely inhumane and cruel. Wildlife should not be taken out of their natural habitat and held captive. Read more

I oppose the training/teaching dogs to kill penned animals. This is not sporting it is cruelty to both dogs and wildlife. A true hunter would not kill for the sport alone but to put food on his table.

I firmly reject the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry’s proposal to allow new licenses and the transfer of licenses for train and trial areas in Ontario. Penned dog hunting facilities are cruel to wild animals that are subjected to various methods used to train dogs to hunt. Read more

This is an ill conceived plan that is also abhorrent. Training dogs to hunt? And when they are old and/or injured and no longer 'useful' what happens then? It is yet another reason to reconsider voting for a Conservative Government in Ontario.

I just learned about this practice and I am sure many other people are not aware. It makes me sick to my stomach and haunts me. How can this cruelty to and inhumane treatment of animals possibly be justified! Think what this says about us. Read more
