Come on Ontario, surely we are not this heartless. You know very well the majority of Canadians would not support this cruelty. First we ship live horses to Japan for slaughter, now this? I never dreamed my own government could be this barbaric and inhumane.

I am shocked this is even being considered. There are many reasons this is abhorrent and dangerous: 1. Allowing dogs to attack and kill animals in this way increases aggressiveness in dogs. We do not need more aggressive dogs. Read more

Do not do this! This is extremely inhumane to our wildlife. There is so much progress we have made this is only going to take us 10 steps back. These animals do not derseve to be trapped and used as bait for hunting dogs, we are in 2023, so many other options to train dogs to hunt. Read more

Outdated and inhumane practice. Does nothing to prove a dog’s ability in the field when they are set up to only succeed by trapping wildlife in fenced areas. This is a huge step backwards for the province of Ontario and shameful.

We do not support this proposal or any allowance of train and trial areas. We do not support the hunting of coyotes via hunting dogs. We own a rural property and are proud to be a safe haven for wildlife and have a strict no hunting policy on our property.

I have read with great concern the impacts to these sentient animals that would be held captive in such a horrific setting. These animals as we are well aware, will be hunted and traumatized for the rest of their lives over and over again. In what world is this okay? Read more

This is an inhumane and cruel practice that should not be allowed in Ontario. Animal cruelty shouldn’t even be an option in this province and I would want my government to work against such policies instead of using it as a tourism opportunity! Please do not do this!

This is unnecessary and cruel. I can understand the need to maintain the dog train areas that exist, particularly when tied to a person’s livelihood, but the existing policy allowing them to run their course seems sensible. Read more

Regarding proposal to allow licences for Dog Train and trial areas and we’ll to transfer existing licences: I am shocked to read, that this barbaric and inhumane practice is being considered in our modern era. This is a “Hunger Games” for defenceless wildlife, which I am opposed to. Read more

It is beyond me that in 2023 you would be so despicably cruel to suggest this new law. What is wrong with you? I am beyond myself that even you would fall to this low to even consider issuing licenses to commit animal cruelty to this degree!

This is the worst, stupidest, and inhumane idea I have heard: I am shocked to hear that it is allowed at all. And worse, that this Government would even consider issuing more licenses. The government should be banning it outright not encouraging it!!!!

I can't believe this is even being considered. Shame on all of you!! Those poor innocent animals. I hope that you come to your senses and so what we all know is ethical and right. There is absolutely no way this should be allowed!!
