firmly reject the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry’s proposal to allow new licenses and the transfer of licenses for train and trial areas in Ontario. Penned dog hunting facilities are cruel to the wild animals who are subjected to various methods used to train dogs to hunt. Read more

Wildlife should never be taken from their natural environments and held captive by hunters. It’s especially cruel to use rabbits, coyotes, and foxes as pawns for hunters to train dogs and hold competitions.

Tyler Teich commenting that I’m very opposed to the use of this practice to game wildlife for the sake of training hunting dogs. It’s very unethical and I’m disappointed in this act having come to question to begin with. Read more

This is abhorrent, despicable, and nauseating. The abject cruelty and complete absence of humanity that would allow these facilities to continue to exist in todays modern world defies understanding. And to want to expand them??? Read more

This is inhumane and embarrassing for a province that we would consider bringing back a practice our own government tried to wind down twenty five years ago for its cruelty. Why would we say to the world come to Ontario where we want to live in the 19th century with antiquated and inhumane laws? Read more

All the people who were offended by the name Dundas and wanted to change the Name would be appalled by the thought of ever allowing such cruelty to our wildlife. This is 2023, and Hunting or teaching dogs to hunt should not be permitted—absolutely Not to Train and Trial Areas.

Hitting the defenceless! Abject cruelty and uncivilized behaviour! Manipulating the ecosystem! This is what it is. Allocate your energy and time towards what people in this province need, today.

I DO NOT support this proposal for penned hunting. It is cruel and unnecessary! With the technology available nowadays, I am sure a prey-like device or robot can be created to mimic various wildlife, so that these innocent souls are spared.
