This is disgusting. Why am I fucking surprised. There are other methods, ex. birth control. But that's what we do, take over all the land and then kill whatever bit of wildlife is left for pleasure and then justify it. Absolutely brutal.
Train and trial practices are archaic and cruel and absolutely should not be continued. The existing facilities need to be shut down and the practice needs to be outlawed. We know better and must do better.
I actually had to read this twice to believe what I was reading. This has to be one of the most sick and barbaric proposals I have ever seen. Anyone who would participate in such an activity needs help and/or a new hobby.

The future already looks so bleak and I'm losing hope for a better world. The news that Ontario will allow these cruel pens to be licensed again has ruined me. What a sad, cruel world we live in.

I thoroughly reject the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry’s proposal to allow new licenses and the transfer of licenses for train and trial areas in Ontario. Penned dog hunting facilities are cruel to the wild animals that are subjected to various methods used to train dogs to hunt.

I felt ill when I read that this was even permitted. It would seem that dogs can tear fox and coyote apart in a pen, if I understand this correctly.

Wildlife should never be taken from their natural environments and held captive by hunters. It’s especially cruel to use rabbits, coyotes, and foxes as pawns for hunters to train dogs and hold
