I firmly reject the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry’s proposal to allow new licenses and the transfer of licenses for train and trial areas in Ontario. Opening applications for train and trial spaces after 25 years is a massive step backward into the past. Read more

No, no, no. I never thought that dogs were trained to hunt certain animals. What a cruel and inhumane act. I don't care that the area is enclosed. In the UK they banned fox hunting because it was cruel and inhumane, this is no different. Read more

Opening applications for train and trial spaces after 25 years is a massive step backward into the past. These facilities have no place in Ontario. Holding wild animals captive is just not right. Please rethink this

What are the proposed changes? In 1997, the Ontario Government phased-out train and trial areas, grandfathered the existing facilities, prohibited the transfer of licenses, and ended the issuance of licenses for new facilities. The proposed changes will allow for: Read more

I am in full support of this proposal. It not only allows for the training of dogs in a manner that respects landowners, but protects and minimizes the impact of the local wildlife during the off-season.

I am appalled at the mounting horrors that morally-bereft Doug Ford and his party are all too eager to enact. There is no green space or creature safe from these opportunistic, inhumane sadists, who see creatures as no more than commodities, except when it comes to their family pets. Read more

A penned hunt is not a "hunt" when wild animals are in an enclosure and torn apart or shot. It is brutal and inhumane. I still don't understand why dogs are used for this kind of activity. There is absolutely no need for it. Read more

Sounds incredibly cruel to the captured animals that are unable to escape their attackers. Who inspects these facilities that the animals are treated humanely. These animals deserve the respect of all living things and being trapped and chased down is pure cruelty. Read more

Thank-you for taking the time to read my comments. It is preposterous to encourage competitive dog hunting, never mind take wild animals from their habitats to be 'used' for training. Read more

I strongly oppose the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry’s proposal to allow new licenses, and the transfer of existing licenses, for dog train and trial areas in Ontario. This is incredibly inhumane.

This is atrocious and unbelievably cruel. Wild animals may be wild, but they are no less deserving of life or respect. They do not deserve to be confined and then hunted down and killed by dogs. There is no place for this in a progressive society. Do better.

Canadians are appalled at Ontario's track record on the treatment of wildlife since Ford took power. By granting this request would confirm what we all suspect, that he is ignorant about ecology and cruel beyond reproach. Prove us wrong- please!! Don’t agree to this proposal.

Upon hearing about this proposal, I was thoroughly disgusted. I cannot believe that such inhumane practices are still in use, let alone potentially expanded. Animals should be left in the wild and not subjected to such practices. Period.
