Nice to see some common sense implemented finally. The only problem that I see is allowing bow hunting in gun season everywhere with the exception of wmu 91 and 92 due to the special interests of a small group of retired MNR employees. Read more

Why not include wmu’s 91-92!?? Permit the use of bows during the gun season(s) in WMUs 53B, 69A2, 70, 76A-E, 77A-C, 78A-B, 79C-D, 80, 81A-B, 82C, 85A-C, 86A-B, 87B-E, 89A-B, 90A-B, 93A-B, and 94B, while requiring the existing safety protocols (e.g. hunter orange).

Hi this doesn’t pertain to the the proposals, however I would like to propose and additional week, either the last week of December or first week of January. This extra week would be primitive muzzleloader only meaning flintlock. Read more

I think these proposed changes are great. They will increase weekend opportunities for those who are unable to hunt during the weekdays of the gun season. The addition of a muzzle-loader season in WMU 42 and 36 is long overdue and logical.

Please consider extending the archery only deer season in WMUs 60, 61, 62 and 63A to December 31st. The neighbouring WMUs to the west, south and east have similar habitat types and a bow season that runs until December 31st. Read more

Thanks for reviewing the deer seasons in Ontario. I highly support the extension of the early bow season for 45 to simplify when seasons are open or closed. The muzzleloader season for 45 sounds like a fun new season to have in this WMU. Read more

I would like WMU 92 added to this proposal. As a bow hunter and a black power hunter I should have the choice on whether I carry my bow or muzzleloader out to hunt. Of coarse I must be drawn in the control hunt to begin with and hunter orange will have to be worn. Read more

A mussel loader season in management unit 45 is a welcome addition. Adding the extra rifle season for the weekend will give new young hunters a second weekend hunting opportunity with their mentors allowing them to hunt without missing school. Read more

Thanks for all your efforts in making these new proposals. These are fantastic ideas giving hunters more opportunities. With the new moose tag system and these new deer opportunities we are definitely moving in the right direction.

In simplifying the deer season to allow bow hunters to hunt in the gun hunt is a sound idea obviously with safety concerns such as wearing blaze orange etc. taken into consideration, however wmu 91 and 92 should be included in the allowable wildlife management units.
