I strongly disagree with the pausing of the implementation of this regulation. This will mean the movement of more untracked soil across our Province. The longer this is put off the more damage that is done. This regulation would help limit to the very lucrative business of illegal dumping. Read more

I am opposed to the pause. Any delay of these important regulations to the dumping of soils will mean problems down the road for our shrinking environment of natural landform systems that maintain biodiversity. Read more

This pause must not happen. I strongly oppose it. It is essential that the regulation remain in effect to protect Ontarians from the kinds of abuses that were taking place before it was implemented. It is in place because there was good reason to have such regulation. Read more

Policies are great but they really don't work in real development situations. Furthermore, I don't feel these policies make a huge difference on the environment. Let me explain. The main issue that I've noticed is the definition of waste and the stringent levels being used. Read more

I am opposed to the Pause, as a resident who suffered during a large scale fill operation for over 5 years and the site is full of contaminated soil. Nothing has been done about the Tottenham Airfield contamination, lack of stormwater management and Green for Life made billions. Read more

For many years I have been troubled by the dumping of fill in rural areas and the amount of heavy truck traffic on roads not designed for it. Often there have been unintended negative consequences to natural drainage patterns and effects on nearby forested land. Read more

I am opposed to the Pause. I am very concerned about this regulation as we have a neighbour who has dumped hundreds and hundreds of truck loads of fill from 401 highway repairs and I am concerned that there are toxins from road rubber that could leach into the environment. Read more

With O. Reg. 406/19 the MECP has successfully created a roadmap on how excess soils are to be managed that allows for consistency in application pertaining to; sampling, tracking, notice filing, on-site reuse and professional oversight by Qualified Persons. Read more
