We strongly disagree with the proposed updates to the Ontario Wetland Evaluation System without further consultation with Conservation Authorities’ experts and full transparency with the citizens of Ontario as to the veracity of the proposed changes.

The majority of projects that I heard of which were built over wetlands, had structural issues come up a few years later. I don't think the risk is worth it. In the long run, it can turn out to be more expensive than the alternative options. Read more

It is extremely shortsighted and foolish to change the evaluation system without further consultation with the environmental community and Conservation Authorities. Wetlands are so important for flood control, pollution mitigation, biodiversity -- Ontario needs all our wetlands intact!

I strongly oppose to the changes to the Ontario Wetland Evaluation System. Conservation Authorities’ experts should be consulted before making a decision, and I also demand full transparency with the citizens of Ontario as to the veracity of the proposed changes.

At the rate we are going, there will be no wetlands, forests, animals, marine life and wilds left in the world. We need to get the word out that we are destroying our world. More houses = less of a world for protected species. Awful really.

I cannot believe that these changes are happening. In years to come, there will be very few wetlands and many of the birds and animals like turtles will become extinct.. Please don't let this happen. Surely in Canada we have enough land to build housing without destroying the wetlands.

I object to Ontario’s Housing Supply Action Plan 3.0 and the government’s commitment to support the construction of 1.5 million new housing units over the next ten years, because of the devastation it will cause to Ontario wetlands. Read more

The proposed changes in the OWES system are horrendous. You cannot take away wetland complexes and assume that everything will still be in balance. These complexes are important for keeping ecosystems and habitat healthy for both wildlife and humans. Read more
