Please tell Doug Ford to respect our GreenBelt. When will people stop putting money before the environment ? It is so shortsighted to continue building over green space and farmland. Do people really not understand the value of these resources.

According to the Report of the Ontario Housing Affordability Task Force, land is available, both inside the existing built-up areas and on undeveloped land outside greenbelts. The report goes on to state that greenbelts and other environmentally sensitive areas MUST BE PROTECTED.

Bill 23 is moving forward despite the outcry of public opinion and expert input on the damaging and irreversible effects on individuals, communities and the environment. This bill must pause until further consultation can take place.

Leave the green belt alone! Shame on the Ford government for trying to destroy an environmentally fragile area. We have so little green spaces left, we need every little bit of it that we have!
This bill is arguably only for the rich and selfish development companies. This bill will hurt everyone financially and environmentally.
Please do not let it go through.

Dear Mr. Clark,

I am opposed to any removal of lands from within the Greenbelt protected boundary. However, I support any addition to Greenbelt lands by expanding the boundaries. Farmland and natural areas provide vital ecosystem services to keep urban areas healthy and prosperous.

As a life long GTA resident and Conservative voter, I am deeply disappointed in the Ontario government and Doug Ford for going back on their promise to not touch the greenbelt.

Southwestern Ontario hosts dense biodiversity that is already harshly impacted by urban sprawl and massive monoculture agriculture. This will not solve any long term issues in development and housing, but it will have long term impacts on the ecological health of this region. Please do not do this.
The green belt is important as it protects environmentally sensitive lands. Keeping it is an essential part of maintaining Ontario’s ecosystems. I’m guessing if this gets developed it will turn into more multi million dollar houses or condo buildings.

This proposal goes in the wrong direction. We have an obligation to fight climate change, which this proposal undermines. This government lied to the people of Ontario with its election promises and should be ashamed.
Leave the. Greenbelt alone.
Selling protected land to the premier's developer buddies right before it's "un-protected" is a sneaky, rotten move -- no one is fooled.
