I am an Ontario citizen, resident and voter and I strongly oppose this proposal that changes the Greenbelt Act Boundary regulation to remove approximately 7000 acres from the Greenbelt Plan area. This is the proposal described in ERO #019-6217. Read more

I agree that Ontario needs more housing but not at the expense of the Greenbelt. Additional housing can be easily built within the boundaries of the urban centers surrounding the Greenbelt - density would simply be intensified to make room for additional houses. Read more

It seems disingenuous to position this change as removing a burden on municipalities when other parts of the Bill 23 proposal remove funding sources to municipalities, such as development charges. The Greenbelt should be a hard boundary to development, as it has always been intended.

I oppose the proposed amendments to the Greenbelt Plan. Municipalities such as Hamilton have already determined that they can meet housing needs/anticipated growth by increasing density within existing urban boundaries. Read more

As a concerned citizen of Ontario and Hamilton resident, I am strongly against the Provincial Government's Proposed Amendments to the Greenbelt Plan. On February 28, 2005, the Greenbelt Act protected 2 million acres of prime agricultural and ecologically sensitive lands from urban development. Read more
