The past 3 years of pandemic life has dramatically made it obvious how much Ontarians need green spaces. During the pandemic people sought out green spaces to relieve the mental stress of living in urban areas. Now your government has decided to reduce those green spaces and increase urban sprawl. The Oak Ridges Moraine Conservation Act has provided protection of this important ecological and hydrological land for over 21 years and there is no reason to remove any of this land from protection now. Read more

I am completely opposed to this and any future bills that amend or make changes to negatively impact the greenbelt. We were told the greenbelt would remain untouched. We need affordable homes NOT more homes. And we need to protect our ecosystem.

The Oak Ridge Moraine is a vital water shed and home to many endangered animals. This land needs to be protected against development. As a voter I do not want to see our precious area pick apart for development and worry what door building here will open.

Are we really in a housing crisis? Are there not condos and units in Toronto that remain empty? Is affordability not the issue here? Nonetheless, the green belt in Ontario is an integral part of the ecosystem in this area. We need it more than we need to put houses in this location. Read more

By definition, landscapes are unique and many cannot be replicated. Destruction of lands and their biota that they support is irreplaceable. These original lands were chosen using a scientific approach, but an accounting sheet. Several landscapes are irreplaceable. Read more
