I agree with the proposed changes to Ontario Regulation 161/17 to the Public Lands Act to change the requirements for camping on water over Ontario’s public lands.

We have a property on little lake for over 40 years. Had to work very hard to be able to afford this property. Now we are paying taxes and we have to look at the floating structures that and not pleasing to the eye and are polluting our waters and don’t pay taxes. Read more

Please do not allow the container homes and long term camping go unchecked on our lakes and crown land. This could get totally out of hand. We have one of the huge container homes near us. What gives them the right to build there home on the lake and crown land.? Please put a stop to this

We operate a commercial houseboat rental business. Some of our guests do rent for a 2 week period. Could there be further distinction between commercial and private use?

This legislation is very specific to a very few instances that has become an issue in recent years. The reduction in camping time in one spot from 21 to 7 days is too restrictive along with requirements of at least 1km distance between campsites. Read more

We are 100% against floating hotels, with enough annoyance from Air BNB properties this is all we need is more transient visitors polluting and disrespecting the area. NO NO NO TO FLOATING HOTELS

These accommodations are an industrial looking eyesore on the otherwise beautiful lakes. They are not contributing to the community by paying taxes. And what happens to their sewage?!

These "floating containers, floating cottages, floating STRUCTURES" NEED to be removed from our waterways! How is this allowed AT ALL. It's sickening to see the possibility of a floating trailer park coming to our beautiful area and ruining the views for those who pay to enjoy them. Read more

First let me say that I am grateful and relived that the Ontario Government is acting upon the very serious issue of “Floating Accommodations” or Floating Cottages as many perceive them. Read more

I am very concerned about the environmental impact these floating homes would have as well as noise pollution, waste water management and short term rentals. They would be using our roads and services without paying property taxes. Floating homes should not be allowed.

I believe that that is a good start to altering the framework around on-water camping. Any on-water overnighting should be in a navigable vessel, and prohibit "floating homes".

As a waterfront property owner I am devastated to think that someone could park a shipping container In front of my house! The noise, the loss of privacy, the noise and light pollution just make me sick. We own and pay taxes for waterfront for the peace and serenity. Read more

Please put an end to these floating houses. Your proposed ideas sound good. We live full time on the water I can't imagine the damage they will do to everything, property values, environment, every ones peace of mind and enjoyment of their properties. Please pass legislation against them

I completely agree with all your proposed changes to current regulations. I think these changes will protect our lands and waterways while still allowing the public to enjoy the waterways.

There needs to be strict regulations for disposal of garbage and human waste. I can see it now all the dumping going into the water. There should be a check point when going in, a time period and a check point coming out of the water to make sure all waste has been kept. This is a sheer debacle. Read more

I am very much against allowing camping on water. Camping on water is a problem because: Environment concerns: - improper dumping of waste in the water - sound and how it travels from the vessel into the water could affect marine life and their breeding Safety: Read more
