This proposal would put an additional strain on already strained farming operations. It would impact food security and independence, and it would lead to loss of wildlife in animals and plants. Read more

Developing the green belt is an asinine and horrible idea. Many communities rely on the green belt and development would condemn our entire province's ability to farm food. We need food. We don't need this damn development.

Please reconsider the new Planning Statement and Bill 97. Too much of Ontario's prime agriculture land is being sacrificed. Communities should be encouraged to grow in directions where farmland isn't being used, our national food security is too important.

We are land owners in rural perth county and live only a few country blocks from a small town. We own separate parcels of land totaling 400 acres. Allowing extra housing to be built on our properties would clutter up our road with 10 more homes on our land alone!!! Read more

Ontario’s productive farmland is a scarce resource, making up less than five per cent of all the land in the province. It is our unwavering position that agricultural production is the most valued and best use of this land. Read more

I'm not very good with "legalese" so am lucky that a friend went over this document with me, and I was rather appalled at what I found hidden there as I'm very much interested in protecting our land and water as climate change continues. Read more
