We as a family do not want this so called recycling centre. It will be bad for my granddaughters breathing issues as well as myself with asthma.
Also bad for land, air and animals. Please take your large business away from our small town.
As I have done my factual research and as a farmer and grandmother.This is not the place for this project.This is half a km from schools .1 km from Meat Packers .1.5 km from Tomato Processing Business . We Tomatoes farmers and other cash crops. This will cause health and safety issues.

There needs to be an environmental assessment without one you are not doing your part in responsible business. We cannot displace animals, we cannot cause more damage to our roads.

-too close to Dresden. Less than 1km
-any new landfill would require municipal approval. The current land fill is tiny compared to what the proposal would like. Both Chatham Kent and lambton Kent said they are against it.

Sent New laws from the Ministry of Environment state that 3.5 km is the required distance. The Ministry of Environment also states, that anything under 3km may cause adverse effects. Our entire town will be within a 3km radius of this megadump.

This new landfill needs to be stopped. It would put families health and the Sydenham river species at risk. The Sydenham river is already home to more than 20 fish and mussels at risk. Adding a landfill would increase the risk to the species and many more.

Please I beg you do an environmental assessment for the proposed expansion of the dump in Dresden. The affects on the land, wildlife and environment in general will be affected not to mention the hazzards of 700 trucks rolling through and around the small town.

If it has been previously determined that the safest distance a landfill should be from a community is 3.5 km, old laws should not be able to change this.

Why has an environmental study not been done? What was the resigning behind choosing a location so close to a town? Won’t there be impacts to the local water run off and wildlife native to that area?
We are really concerned about York1 putting this dump so near Dresden and Molly Creek. We need to have an assessment done to check what they will be doing to not only Molly Creek which spills into the Sydenham River but to everyone’s well water around the area.

This site is to close to town limits, is not following current environmental laws, taken into consideration farming traffic , road condition and distance from 400 series roadways.
Find a location closer to Toronto area
As stated on this website this is a new and expanded landfill and should have a full Environmental study and should fall under bill 197 act. This is not a good site to have a landfill and is not supported by Chatham Kent zoning and the the people of Dresden Ontario.
This proposed landfill is too close to a historical vibrant community and the increased truck traffic to and from it , will cause many issues
Other landfill operations are not this close to a community, a high school, a new sub division-

Under the proposed regulations this would be a new expanded landfill and should have a full environmental study and also fall under the bill 197 act . This is not a good place for a landfill and is not supposed by the people of Dresden and the farmers, townships and zoning bylaws.
