Decision details
A new ECA has been issued to Metis Nation of Ontario & Ontario Aboriginal Housing, for the establishment of sewage works, in support of a proposed Townhome Condominium Lot Development; for the collection, transmission, treatment and disposal of stormwater run-off from a site located at 331 Patrick Street, in the City of Sault Ste. Marie, District of Algoma, Ontario.
The sewage works system will consist of storm sewers, a dry pond and an oil and grit separator, for quantity and quality control; discharging into the Sault Ste. Marie St. Mary's River Watershed, via municipal sewers and west/east Davignon Creek.
Effects of consultation
The comment provided addressed that the infrastructure at the site appears to already exist. The review engineer consulted with the applicant and their consultant and determined that the works was in fact installed before approval was granted. The review engineer requested a series of documents including as-built engineering drawings of the existing system, and a memorandum signed, stamped, and dated by an Professional Engineer describing the existing works with confirmation the design meets the required quality (minimum TSS% removal as per requirement of local Conservation Authority or Municipal requirements) and quantity controls (post-development flows controlled to pre-development levels for all storm events up to and including the 100 year storm event) in accordance with the 2003 Stormwater Management Planning and Design Guidelines. The information was provided and confirmed to meet all Ministry guidelines.
