This Bill prioritizes the least efficient, most expensive, most polluting for of transportation against the will of the people. This bill is nothing more that kickback of taxpayers money to the premiers friends.

This Bill will induce demand, increase traffic and increase gridlock. Plus increase pollution in local communities that have consistently said they do not want this. Oh, and people will die because of this poorly thought out Bill.

This highway will only increase induced traffic. It will ultimately make traffic worse, not better. Reducing the environmently requirements for this project is a backwards thinking mentality. Our wetlands are important for flood mitigation and carbon sequestering. Read more

This is an awful, awful idea. I’ve had two friends who were killed because they had to ride their bikes in the middle of the road and a protected bike lane could have saved them. If you support this bill, you will have blood on your hands.

Huge waste of my taxpayer money. Won’t make a lick of difference to congestion. I use the Bloor bike lanes multiple times every single day - I commute to work, meet up with friends and take my kids for rides to camp in those lanes. Read more

With regards to the section entitled “ Ministry approval for bicycle lanes required”, the removal of bicycle lanes and the prevention of new bicycle lanes will make cycling unsafe and cause bicycles to enter lanes of traffic. The real problem is too many cars on the road, not bicycle lanes.

As someone who drives, bikes, and walks around Toronto, I appreciate the value of bike lanes in our city. Not only does it ease traffic congestion and reduce emissions, but it also makes Toronto a more livable place. Read more

I am adamantly opposed to Bill 212. It ignores many legitimate studies regarding roads, traffic, environmental protection, and bicycle lanes. It is instead based on flawed reasoning, faulty analysis, and corrupt support for industry over people. Read more

Bill 212 will hurt businesses that are accessible by bike from local residents. Another lane of car traffic will not bring customers. My customers come by bike, on foot or transit. Nobody is driving a few hundred metres to my restaurant.

This Bill will hurt small businesses, the environment, and increase the debt. Something conservatives are great at pretending to care about but raise it will bloated wasteful useless bills like this.
