This bill will recklessly endanger the lives of cyclists, dramatically worsen gridlock by forcing drivers that own bikes to use their car instead of their bike, and generally lead to more traffic fatalities and more gridlock.

Over the past 10 years, as bike lanes have increased, I’ve felt it much safer to ride to work and now do daily. It used to be a scary commute. Removing them will make things less safe for me and I worry about my child losing her father. Read more

people DIE without bike lanes. bike lanes keep bikers safe. biking promotes less traffic and is more accessible for lots of folks than transit or driving. taking out bike lanes to promote more cars is classist and does not align with the city values

Bike lanes promote safety. What alternative measures are you considering instead? Will you take responsibility for any injuries that may occur as a result of this bill? We don’t support this bill

We need bike lanes - it’s dangerous for bikers to share the road with cars, for both the driver and the biker. Additionally, removal of bike lanes will not remove bikers, and there will still be gridlock. Read more

Wasting public money and time destroying public infrastructure. We would like the government to fix transit and car congestion. Metrolinx mandate of accessibility over convienence and reliability is the problem.

Bill 212 sounds egregious and inhumane. Bike lanes are safer for bikers, drivers, pedestrians, everybody on the roads. I am strongly against the removal of bike lanes without municipal and jurisdictional agreement. This is insane.

I’m 25, And I know people personally who have been affected by unsafe bike infrastructure - leading to death. Bike lanes save lives, simple as that. As someone who does not bike in the city too often, every time I bike in the city I’m almost hit or run over by a vehicle. Read more

I do not think that the construction of highways should be made without adequate environmental assessments being done. Wetlands are a large part of our local ecosystems and support life in many different ways. This includes migratory birds, amphibians, fish, and insects. Read more
