Waste Management of Canada Corporation - Environmental Compliance Approval (air)

This proposal is to amend the Environmental Compliance Approval (air and noise) No. 6012-BU6R7S issued to Waste Management of Canada Corporation, a waste and recyclables transfer facility, located in the City of Toronto, Ontario.

This application is for a planned facility expansion that includes a new recyclables transfer station, and modifications to the misting system for odour control and emissions from waste transfer activities. The sources at the facility include a misting system for odour control, waste transfer activities, maintenance welding, natural gas fired boilers, painting operations, dyed diesel storage tanks, and a compressed natural gas fuelling station, including electric compressors, compressed natural gas dryers, compressed gas storage tanks, and fill stations. Contaminant emissions to the atmosphere include:

• suspended particulate matter,
• chromium compounds (metallic, divalent and trivalent forms),
• manganese and manganese compounds,
• talc-fibrous, and
• nitrogen oxides
