Proposal details
This proposal is for a new Environmental Compliance Approval to implement a strategy of diversion of stormwater from the on-site treatment system to reduce the risk of a bypass event, with the discharge flowing directly towards the Trent River via the diversion outfall; for the wood preserving plant facility owned by Domtar Inc. and located at 126 Marmora Street, in the City of Quinte West, Ontario.
The sewage works will include stormwater/groundwater captured in interception trenches for unimpacted stormwater from areas of the site where contaminating activities did not occur. This diversion strategy is designed to reduce the likelihood of bypassing untreated effluent, which would pose an elevated level of concern to the health of the Trent River.
