This new Permit to Take Water for Lake Shore Gold Corp. for industrial purposes was issued on April 9, 2021 under permit No. 7525-BX8BRA. Water will be taken from the Marlhill Pit, located in Porcupine, Ontario.

The renewal of Permit to Take Water No. 8130-BW5QBF, for Evolution Mining Gold Operations Ltd. to take water for the purposes of remediation from five wells, was issued on April 7, 2021 as permit No. P-300-1109015653.

A new Permit to Take Water No. 0714-BXTP2X was issued on March 31, 2021 to 1618566 Ontario Inc. operating as Hammond Golf and Country Club, with an expiry date of December 31, 2030. Water will be taken for commercial and industrial purposes.

This Permit to Take Water No. 8101-AY8HT5 for construction purposes was renewed on March 31, 2021 under permit No. 3177-BXPMNZ.

We have approved the amendment and issued a renewed Permit to Take Water No. 5127-BP4L3J for Steed and Evans Limited for industrial purposes and aggregate washing.

This decision is for a renewal of Permit to Take Water No. 2234-BC6MVG for Gowest Gold Ltd. for dewatering purposes. Water will be taken from two wells related to dewatering and water supply activities, located in the Township of Tully, District of Cochrane, Ontario. This permit was issued on March 30, 2031 under permit No. 1503-BYRR5G.

This decision is for the renewal of Permit to Take Water No. 2635-8HVQ4R, issued to Rio Algom Limited to take water for the purpose of impoundment of water from Westner Lake to prevent acid generation. Permit was released on March 30, 2021 under permit No. 7475-BYRMXV.

We have issued a new Permit to Take Water No. 7184-BZ5SAE on March 25, 2021, which cancels and replaces Permit to take Water No. 7503-A59QN8, for 6980848 Canada Corporation located in Ottawa, Ontario.

The new Permit to Take Water has an expiry date of March 26, 2026.

We are moving forward with changes to the Ontario Water Resources Act to require water bottling companies to have the support of their local host municipality for a new or increased groundwater taking in their community.

We are moving forward with enhancements to Ontario’s policies, programs and scientific tools for managing water takings to ensure water resources in the province are protected and used sustainably.

We are moving forward with guidance to help enhance the management of water takings in areas where quantity is a concern and where there are competing demands for water. We are also revoking the interim guidance on water bottling renewals at the same time that the enhancements to Ontario’s water taking program will be put in place on April 1, 2021.

This decision is for a renewal of Permit to Take Water No. 2232-8CDQLE. Permit to Take Water No. 4174-BZ5SS2 was issued to Meadowbrook Golf and Country Club Association on March 23, 2021 for the purpose of golf course irrigation. The permit expires on March 15, 2031.

A permit to take water was not required.
