We have created Uxbridge Urban Provincial Park through an amendment to O. Reg. 316/07 under the Provincial Parks and Conservation Reserves Act, 2006. We have made a decision to amend the Open Seasons and Hunting regulations under the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Act, 1997 to streamline deer season types and duration across the province.
The Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing (MMAH) sought input in 2023 on proposed policies for an integrated province-wide land use planning document. On April 10, 2024, MMAH released an updated proposed Provincial Planning Statement for public input. (ERO# 019-8462)
Amendments have been made to the Oil, Gas and Salt Resources Act, through Bill 91, to create an authorization process for special projects to test or demonstrate new activities, including carbon storage, and to enhance measures to safeguard people and the environment. Bill 91 received royal assent on June 8, 2023.
We are modernizing our environmental assessment (EA) program to better serve communities now and in the future. Comments received on the discussion paper have been and will continue to be considered when making decisions on EA modernization initiatives.
