Eabametoong First Nation and Mishkeegogamang First Nation are jointly leading preparation of a community based land use plan, working together with the Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) within the context of the Far North Land Use Planning Initiative.
On January 10, 2025, the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing informed the City of Barrie he was declining the request for the use of provincial tools on lands known municipally as 175 & 199 Essa Road and 50 Wood Street.
We made regulatory amendments to support a smooth transition from the federal OBPS to Ontario’s EPS program which applies new obligations and greenhouse gas performance standards for Ontario industry beginning on January 1, 2022. The amendments will complement the changes proposed in 019-2813.
This proposal was to renew permit to take water number 3042-9UKQ7N for commercial purposes from Nottawasaga Bay and three (3) ponds related to snowmaking and golf course irrigation activities, in the Town of The Blue Mountains, County of Grey, Ontario. Permit to Take Water Number 8434-BPHPZJ was issued on May 26, 2020 for a period of 10 years.

A decision was made on October 18, 2024, to approve a new Official Plan for the County of Brant, as adopted by By-law 61-23. The approved new Official Plan includes growth and population targets, a revised community structure, and new land use policies which apply to all lands within the County of Brant.

The Minister of the Environment, Conservation and Parks has issued an overall benefit permit to the Town of LaSalle for construction activities that may impact Eastern Foxsnake and Dense Blazing Star, two species at risk. The Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing has received a proposed official plan from the Municipality of Magnetawan for a decision. The purpose of the proposed plan is to achieve consistency with provincial policies, and to establish goals, objectives, and local policies to manage and direct physical (land use) change within the municipality.
A Certificate of Property Use was issued to HIP Abstract GP Inc. for the property located at 659 & 667 King Street West, in the City of Kitchener on May 27, 2024.
We have not approved the renewal of Permit to Take Water No. 5242-96KKA7 for industrial purposes. The application was returned to the proponent on May 15, 2018 because it was incomplete. No permit was issued.

We are seeking input on a proposal for a permit to be issued to the Regional Municipality of Peel to carry out construction activities that may adversely impact Jefferson Salamander/Unisexual Ambystoma, which are a species at risk. The proposal considers avoidance options, actions to minimize adverse effects and beneficial actions for the species.
The ministry has accepted the risk assessment and the risk management plan prepared for the City of Thunder Bay as part of the development plans for the proposed Thunder Bay Art Gallery lands located at the waterfront, and the director is considering issuing a Certificate of Property Use ("CPU") in relation to the property.

We issued the order to the Town of Atikokan upon consent on February 27, 2018. The order requires the town to complete upgrades to the municipal wastewater system within set timelines. The upgrades will prevent, decrease or eliminate adverse effects, including the backup of sewage into basements, and the discharge of sewage into the environment.
