We have granted an Environmental Compliance Approval with Limited Operational Flexibility (air) for DMS Metals Ltd., a scrap metal recycling and processing facility located in Gormley, Ontario.
We are modernizing the environmental assessment program by working with proponents of Class Environmental Assessments (Class EA) to propose changes that would ensure strong environmental oversight, while aligning assessment requirements with environmental impact, reducing duplication and increasing efficiency of the Class EA process.

Land use planning is a process that determines the most appropriate use of land and water. We are working with Kashechewan First Nation to develop a community based land use plan for an area in the Far North. It will identify which lands will be dedicated to protection and which will be open for potential economic development.
