A number of amending regulations under the Planning Act were filed on March 5, 2018 and came into force on April 3, 2018. The changes to the regulations facilitate implementation of legislative changes made by the Building Better Communities and Conserving Watersheds Act, 2017.

We are seeking feedback on a proposal to amend R.R.O. 1990 Regulation 826 under the Niagara Escarpment Planning and Development Act to update the Area of Development Control where it overlaps with the Parkway Belt West Plan within the City of Burlington, and to align with the Niagara Escarpment Plan boundary in Dufferin County.
Approval was granted for a new Environmental Compliance Approval (air & noise) for J. Harrison Excavating and Pipeline Ltd. for the operation of a mobile screening plant, equipped with one screener, a front end loader, a conveyor, and an associated diesel engine.

We have amended the Pesticides Regulation under the Pesticides Act to reduce complexity and modernize pesticide management in Ontario while ensuring strong protection for human health and the environment.
The 2021 Annual Report to the Minister of the Environment, Conservation and Parks from the Committee on the Status of Species at Risk in Ontario (COSSARO) is now available on Ontario.ca. The report includes COSSARO’s assessments and resulting classifications of species in accordance with the Endangered Species Act, 2007.
Due to COVID-19 related closure of examination centres for nutrient management certification and licensing, the 4 certificates and 2 licences issued under O. Reg. 267/03 of the Nutrient Management Act, 2002 that would have expired between April 14, 2020 and April 29, 2021 are extended. The new expiry date will be April 30, 2021.
