The Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing received a request to amend Minister’s Zoning Order, Ontario Regulation 125/23, that applies to lands in the City of Pickering at 1955 Valley Farm Road. The Ministry is seeking input on whether this request should be considered and any information that may help inform the Minister’s decision-making.
On February 6, 2023, the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing posted to the Environmental Registry a proposal for a new Minister’s regulation under the Planning Act that would require 29 municipalities in Ontario to report data on planning matters on a quarterly and annual basis. The ministry has issued direction that would allow for the disposal of contaminated groundwater in the New Liskeard Lagoons sewage treatment system. The contaminated groundwater was encountered during the excavation of soil for the replacement of a culvert located at Calamity Creek on Highway 11.
