On July 1, 2019, amendments to O. Reg. 509/18 made under the Electricity Act, 1998 came into force. These amendments further harmonize requirements for six products with Canadian and U.S. standards, and make editorial changes to keep the regulation up-to-date.

MTO is replacing the current Motor Vehicle Inspection Station (MVIS) program with a contractual model. The program is transitioning to a multi-year contract between the ministry and service stations/garages offering Emission Inspection, Safety Standard, Periodic Mandatory Commercial Vehicle Inspection (PMCVI) and Structural Inspection Certificates.
The government has made changes to O. Reg. 82/98 under the Development Charges Act. in order to increase the supply and range of housing options for Ontarians.

Ontario has made changes to O. Reg. 106/09 under the Nutrient Management Act, 2002 to update the process for getting verification certificates and verification statements, which will allow farmers and businesses to show that the incinerators are of a type that can comply with specified operational requirements in the regulation.
We amended Renewable Energy Approval No. 4353-9HMP2R for the Niagara Region Wind Farm, located in the Townships of West Lincoln, Wainfleet and the Town of Lincoln within the Region of Niagara and Haldimand County. The amendment is to outline daytime and nighttime operation requirements for wind turbine T08.

We finalized the regulation that will make producers responsible for blue box materials under the Resource Recovery and Circular Economy Act, 2016. We also finalized amendments to Regulation 101/94: Recycling and Composting of Municipal Waste to sunset municipal obligations to run blue box systems after transition to full producer responsibility.

We are seeking public input on what actions Ontario should take, if any, in response to the results of the "Cumulative Impact Assessment of Withdrawals, Consumptive Uses and Diversions: 2016-2020” conducted under the Great Lakes-St. Lawrence River Basin Sustainable Water Resources Agreement.
