The Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing received a request for a Community Infrastructure and Housing Accelerator order from the Township of Springwater. The Ministry is seeking input on whether a Minister’s Zoning Order pursuant to clause 47(1)(a) of the Planning Act should be considered to address this request.
On January 10, 2025, the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing informed the City of Barrie he was declining the request for the use of provincial tools on lands known municipally as 175 & 199 Essa Road and 50 Wood Street.
On September 20, 2024, the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing filed a Minister's Zoning Order with the Registrar of Regulations as Ontario Regulation (O. Reg.) 365/24 in the Town of Ajax. The Town of Ajax requested that the Minister consider making the Zoning Order.

We are extending the current moratorium on new or increased permits to take groundwater to produce bottled water for up to 6 months, to April 1, 2021. This extension gives us time to thoroughly consider the feedback we received and further engage on how we can implement our proposed enhancements to Ontario’s water taking program.
Permit to Take Water No. 2166-D6CJXU was issued to Campfire! Bible Camp on July, 8, 2024, to renew the previous Permit to Take Water No. 7043-9JTKY9 for campground water supply purposes. Water will be taken from one (1) well, located in the Township of Euphrasia, Grey Highlands, Ontario, for 10 years.
We have issued a new Permit to Take Water No. 3222-CWSPNT for GIP Properties Corp. on November 20, 2023. Water will be taken from one well for dewatering, aggregate washing, dust control, and manufacturing purposes at the McAdoo Quarry, located in Kingston, Ontario. The new permit will expire on August 1, 2033.
