A licence to operate a pit was issued to Aaroc Aggregates Ltd. in the County of Middlesex.

On January 10, 2025, the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing informed the City of Barrie he was declining the request for the use of provincial tools on lands known municipally as 175 & 199 Essa Road and 50 Wood Street.

On September 20, 2024, the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing filed a Minister's Zoning Order with the Registrar of Regulations as Ontario Regulation (O. Reg.) 365/24  in the Town of Ajax. The Town of Ajax requested that the Minister consider making the Zoning Order.

The application for this new Permit to Take Water for Vale Canada Limited was withdrawn by the applicant.

We have issued an Environmental Compliance Approval to Amico Properties Inc. for the construction of sanitary and storm sewers, and stormwater management works to service Lakeside Estates Phase 2 Subdivision, located on a property legally described as Part 1 of Reference Plan 12R27736, Lot Gore, Concession West of Puce River, Town of Lakeshore.

We are extending the current moratorium on new or increased permits to take groundwater to produce bottled water for up to 6 months, to April 1, 2021. This extension gives us time to thoroughly consider the feedback we received and further engage on how we can implement our proposed enhancements to Ontario’s water taking program.

Permit to Take Water No. 2166-D6CJXU was issued to Campfire! Bible Camp on July, 8, 2024, to renew the previous Permit to Take Water No. 7043-9JTKY9 for campground water supply purposes. Water will be taken from one (1) well, located in the Township of Euphrasia, Grey Highlands, Ontario, for 10 years.

We have issued a new Permit to Take Water No. 3222-CWSPNT for GIP Properties Corp. on November 20, 2023. Water will be taken from one well for dewatering, aggregate washing, dust control, and manufacturing purposes at the McAdoo Quarry, located in Kingston, Ontario. The new permit will expire on August 1, 2033.

A new Permit to Take Water No. 0540-CCQK8U for Miller Paving Limited was issued on March 21, 2022 for aggregate washing purposes in the Township of Wilmot, Regional Municipality of Waterloo.

A new Permit to Take Water No. 2765-CNVS57 on February 10, 2023, which cancels and replaces Permit No. 4265-8VDKFN for Waynco Limited for industrial aggregate washing purposes.

The permitted water taking will serve the Myer’s Pit in North Dumfries, Regional Municipality of Waterloo, Ontario. The new permit expires on February 1, 2033.

Pursuant to Section 53 of the Planning Act, provisional consent was granted on February 1, 2016 in respect of Application 54-C-159406 for creation of one new agricultural lot on lands described as the west ½ of the south ½ of lot 5, concession 3, Cane unincorporated township, District of Timiskaming. This decision has passed the appeal date.

We have issued an Environmental Compliance Approval No. A-500-7102515927 to Schuyler Farms Limited for the on-site sewage system servicing a large fruit growing operation that employs a large number of off-shore seasonal workers living in seven (7) bunkhouses (Buildings #1 - #7), located at 383 Concession 14 Townsend, Simcoe, Ontario.

Pursuant to Section 53 of the Planning Act, provisional consent was granted on November 4, 2019 in respect of Application 60-C-192608 for a 0.07-hectare lot addition for land described as PIN42055-0072, Part 1, Plan 23R-6566 on Indian Lake (Alexandra Lake) in the Unincorporated Township of Smellie, District of Kenora. 

The Permit to Take Water No. 8085-D4CLGS was issued to Hamilton Golf and Country Club on May 1, 2024, for 5 years for commercial purposes to renew the permit 6406-AXVKFA. Water will be taken from four wells, one ponds, and Ancaster Creek related to golf course irrigation activities, located in the City of Hamilton, Ontario.

We are moving forward with guidance to help enhance the management of water takings in areas where quantity is a concern and where there are competing demands for water. We are also revoking the interim guidance on water bottling renewals at the same time that the enhancements to Ontario’s water taking program will be put in place on April 1, 2021.

Pursuant to Section 53 of the Planning Act, provisional consent was granted in respect of Application 60-C-191610 for the creation of one (1) new water access resource-based recreational lot for land described as PIN42150-1016, Pcl 5131, Loc G1503, on Hay Island, Lake of the Woods, Unincorporated Territory, District of Kenora.
