On November 24, 2017, we amended the energy efficiency regulation with new and enhanced efficiency standards for 12 products. The amendment aligns Ontario’s energy efficiency standards with leading North American jurisdictions, helps reduce the environmental impact of energy use and encourages energy conservation.

The minister has issued a permit under the Endangered Species Act, 2007 to HH (MB) Limited Partnership for activities that will impact Blanding’s Turtle, Eastern Foxsnake (Georgian Bay Population) and Eastern Whip-poor-will. The permit includes actions to minimize adverse effects and benefit the species and monitoring and reporting requirements.

Approval was granted to allow Ottawa D-Squared Aggregates Limited, operating in the Township of North Stormont, to increase the maximum number of tonnes of aggregate to be removed from the site annually.

This decision is for a new Permit to Take Water for Greenstone Gold Mines GP Inc. Water will be taken from one pond for dewatering purposes associated with the construction of the Goldfield Creek diversion temporary by-pass channel, located at the Greenstone Mine in Geraldton, Ontario.

A decision was made on September 25, 2025 to modify and approve , the Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville Official Plan, as adopted by By-law 2024-057. A decision has been withheld on part of the Official Plan. The approved new official plan outlines a comprehensive framework of new and revised policies to guide growth and development in the town.

We issued a Minister’s Directive to the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO) requiring them to implement a 12-year electricity conservation and demand-side management (eDSM) Framework starting January 1, 2025, which includes a budget of up to $10.9 billion for the IESO to deliver a portfolio of electricity energy efficiency (EE) programs.

The site plan amendment for Durham Stone and Paving Inc. to lower the final depth of extraction for a pit in the Municipality of Grey Highlands has been approved.
