I am opposed to restraining snares as a method for trapping wildlife. It is my understanding snares are not certified under the Agreement on International Humane Trapping Standards and that many countries have discontinued their use.
I feel strongly that laws relevant to trapping need to be supported by science and research not the interests of the fur industry. That research should be published and available for the public to understand the issues and rationale. Snares have been proven to cause negative outcomes for non-targetvanimals as well.
