The original 1894 charter highlights the cottage community as a key reason for the park's establishment, and this Heritage Cottage Community has been vital since the park's beginning.

Any new leases or extensions related to this initiative should include fair terms and conditions, avoiding punitive economic measures aimed at eviction. It's essential that new lease agreements are created in collaboration with the Rondeau Cottagers Association.

The decision regarding ERO 011-1300, announced on December 20, 2019, indicated that a final policy decision would allow for consultations on a new long-term cottage lot occupation option. The cottage community is eagerly awaiting this proposal and looks forward to discussions on establishing a long-term solution for cottage tenure.
