We are concerned over proposed changes on existing municipal infrastructure. Our municipal wells, sanitary pump stations and stormwater infrastructure are not equipped to handle the additional flows from the many additional units being proposed in existing subdivisions. The costs associated with upgrading the municipal infrastructure to accommodate the additional residential units is not affordable or in some cases recoverable (Development Charge exemptions). Smaller municipalities are not able to absorb these new additional costs.
