I strongly oppose this proposal.
The role of our province and city is not to facilitate *drivers* but rather to facilitate *people*.
It is a regression and a waste of precious funding to remove bike infrastructure which is vital for facilitating people getting to where they need to go.
We should strive for a world that has fewer drivers and a higher diversity of transit in order to reduce congestion. Removing cycling infrastructure and adding more lanes is contrary to the world we want to live in.
Further, it should not be the province's role to dictate how Toronto manages its streets.
See supporting documents for evidence of how bike lanes reduce congestion, bike lanes have a positive economic impact on adjacent businesses, and other related evidence that debunks conceptions which are driving this proposal.
