I don't understand why live bait of all types would be banned in provincial parks. Even though frogs, leaches, worms are common throughout. I understand trying to control invasive minnows. But what is the difference outside of park boundaries that would make this allowable. As far as carrying baitfish from zone to zone, why not ban the sale of certain baitfish that are identified as causing potential problems to other ecosystems. My opinion is the ministry is diving too deep into this and needs to address other more serious issues. What's the point of trying to control a little bit of live bait that is very unlikely to cause issues when every spring indigenous peoples are destroying the walleye populations by limitless overharvesting of spawning stock. Much of the time this over harvesting is for profit, selling fish on the reserves.
