Will the government be setting additional funds aside for the health and safety costs of these changes? Removing safe biking infrastructure will make our roads more dangerous and congested with cars, which will increase deaths and serious injuries, straining our healthcare costs. With fewer people able to bike, preventable disease and premature deaths will rise, further straining healthcare costs.
