This is a disgrace. Not only is this nonsensical policy with no basis in fact- bike lanes save lives and reduce congestion - it is also a gross overreach by the provincial government. The provincial government does not get to decide where a municipality puts its bike lanes, that is not their mandate, they were not elected by the people of Toronto to manage those issues, and it is a slap in the face of the principle of subsidiarity which underpins our federation. The provincial government should be ashamed of itself.
